Gilberto Nobrega is a photographer's photographer. His work is admired and respected by his peers and, more importantly, by producers who swear by his skills and who enjoy his easy personality.

Gilberto learned the basics of the craft at a young age; his father was a still photographer in the Azores. At sixteen, Gilberto emigrated to Fall River, MA. After college he worked as a staff cameraman for the NBC affiliate in Providence, RI. In 1997 the National Press Photographers Association recognized him as "Photographer of the Year". Because of his consistent excellence, Gilberto was hired as Director of Photography at Context Media, also in Providence. Context Media was a full-service production house serving broadcast magazine programs and high-end corporate clients. In his time there, Gilberto honed his skills in film-style lighting and multi-camera production.

Gilberto is a freelance mainstay for Dateline NBC. He has traveled far and wide shooting stories for that show. He works regularly for ABC and CBS as well. Other clients include HBO Sports, The Food Network, HGTV and ESPN. Lush, soft lighting and content-reinforcing b-roll exemplify Gilberto's creative visual style.
