Tom Fahey/Owner/Director of Photography
Tom Fahey is one of New England’s busiest video photographers. His work is seen regularly on some of America’s best-known television programs. His clients include 60 Minutes, 20/20, Dateline NBC and many independent documentary and corporate producers. Tom has shot numerous programs that have won national awards including the EMMY, the Peabody and Cine Golden eagle.
Producers repeatedly remark that Tom brings an important intangible to every shoot: an optimistic, confident personality. Tom understands that producers prefer to work with photographers with whom they feel at ease. Competence and experience, too, are paramount. Money and reputations are at stake. The work can be arduous. Respectful, open communication is essential. Bottom line? Tom wants to make an optimal contribution to every production he DPs. He asks the same from every freelancer associated with Boston Video Crews.
Gilberto Nobrega/Director of Photography
Gilberto Nobrega is a photographer’s photographer. His work is admired and respected by his peers and, more importantly, by producers who swear by his skills and who enjoy his easy manner.
Gilberto learned the basics of the craft at a young age; his father was a still photographer in the Azores. At sixteen, Gilberto emigrated to Massachusetts. After college he worked as a staff cameraman for the NBC affiliate in Providence, RI. In 1997 the NPPA recognized him as regional “Photographer of the Year”.
Gilberto has traveled far and wide shooting stories for Dateline NBC. He works regularly for ABC and CBS as well. Other clients include HBO Sports, The Food Network, ESPN and HGTV. Lush, soft lighting and content-reinforcing b-roll exemplify Gilberto’s highly creative visual style.
Mary Ellen Gardner/Production Manager
Mary Ellen Gardner has been an integral player on a wide range of video productions. With over twenty years experience, she has managed numerous multi-million dollar projects from concept to completion.
Mary Ellen has managed production operations for WGBH Television, Pellet Productions and Multivision, Inc.. In each of those positions she gained invaluable knowledge of production logistics, and selecting freelance staff and camera crews. She understands how to best meet the specific needs of individual projects for individual producers.
